As we head into the end of the 1st month of Trump 2.0, local weirdos are still acting like it's October 2024. Are these winners doing things to address fire danger, mudslides, cost of living, housing, or traffic?
Let's take a look:
Wannabe Glendale power couple Alex Balekian and James Clarke appear to be celebrating the removal of "Trans" from LGBT on federal websites.
You did it, boys! You limited speech! We look forward to seeing what happens when the Balekian/Clarke marriage is deemed illegal by SCOTUS.
Ara Najarian is allegedly exploring ways to be Mayor one more time by attempting to change city rules. Najarian is now contesting the legal fees he owes for his failed case against the City of Glendale. In a recent filing, Ara (a lawyer by training...) claims he doesn't understand why the City had to pay for independent legal counsel and is asking for literal receipts.
Note: Ara Najarian has been on council for twenty fucking years this month and this is what he is doing for our city. Thanks for all the hard work making Glendale great again. Wonder how much rent in Glendale has gone up since 2005...
Vartan Gharpetian joined Najarian in a shared quest to take Glendale back to the 1950s. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum have continued to block progress on making Glendale climate-resilient. Gharpetian and Najarian want NO bike lanes, NO pedestrian parkways, and ABSOLUTELY ALL THE PLASTIC POSSIBLE (hat tip to 'progressives' Ardy and Elen for caving on that last one. We see you, and it's exhausting).
Meanwhile, the Trump/Musk administration's freeze and gut of the USAID foreign aid program has eliminated millions of dollars that went to support Armenia and Artsakh. This archived USAID post explains that the funds went to support Armenian businesses - especially the IT sector - food supply, medicine, and housing. Since 1992, USAID has sent over TWO BILLION DOLLARS to Armenia. Whoopsie! Surely the Arbiter of All Things Armenian Maro Yacoubian is freaking out about this?!
Of course not.
We're sure Maro can host a bake sale at her pretend Armenian school to make up the difference. Instead, the "Make Glendale Great Again" Instagram (which appears to be run by Maro) has been spending time getting mad at Laura Friedman, member of the [checks notes] minority in the House of Representatives. (Friedman did crush Alex Balekian though).
To summarize: Tens of millions of dollars of Armenia-focused USAID are gone thanks to Trump/Musk. This includes a recent $20.6 million dollars that was announced in September during the Biden administration. We have not heard a peep!
That's right, the LOKA and MGGA fascists on social media who have spent years now raving about protecting "Armenian Christian values" are silent about this. We have not seen them lift a finger for local Eaton fire relief or do anything remotely positive for our actual Glendale community. Still waiting!
Funny enough, Trump's admin also halted USAID for landmine removal in Artsakh in 2019. Democrats Raskin and Sherman spoke out against the cuts, but we heard not a peep from our local MAGA loyalists back then!
Finally, Gender-affirming care and homeschool enthusiast Narine Tadevosyan AKA "Bad Moms Media" is calling for the murder of NIH scientists based on President Musk/DOGE anti-government propaganda.
